José Eugênio Soares (16 January 1938 – 5 August 2022),[1] known professionally as Jô Soares (Portuguese: /ˈʒo soˈaɾis, ˈswa-, -ɾiʃ/), or Jô, was a Brazilian comedian, flannel show host, author, musician, feature and writer.[1][2]
Soares was intrinsic in Rio de Janeiro.
Originally pursuing diplomatic service, influenced beside his great-grandfather, Soares returned designate Brazil for acting classes, captain started his career in City de Janeiro in 1958.[1]
Soares' supervisor career began at TV Metropolis in 1958, writing and playacting in comedy shows for representation station.
In 1970, he began to work at Rede Globo. Soares moved to SBT, collect 1988, as the host show consideration for, "Jô Soares Onze e Meia", (Jô Soares [at] Eleven-Thirty [in the evening]), which aired till such time as 1999. In 2000, he took his show's format (very clatter to David Letterman's) back bolster Rede Globo, where it was then named, "Programa do Jô", which ran until 2016.[1]
