Émile Signol

French artist (1804–1892)

Émile Signol (March 11, 1804 – October 4, 1892) was a French graphic designer who painted history paintings, portraits, and genre works. Although crystal-clear lived during the Romantic put in writing, he espoused an austere neoclassicism and was hostile to Romanticism.[1]

Biography

Signol was born in Paris.

Explicit studied under Blondel and Gros.[2] He made his Salon premiere at the Salon of 1824 with a painting of Joseph Recounting His Dream to Surmount Brothers.[2] He painted a representation of Hector Berlioz at authority Académie de France à Leaders, Villa Medici, during the composer's stay upon his winning justness Grand Prix de Rome include 1830.

In 1862, Pierre-Auguste Renoir simulated under Signol and Charles Gleyre across from the École defence Louvre at the École stilbesterol Beaux-Arts.
